7th August - Hawcoat Park 5 vs 0 Norcross [Less said the better, hence no match report will be suitable for the worldwide web!]

10th August - Hesketh Bank 1 vs 3 Norcross [Kirton 2, Eastwood]

A welcome 3 points following last Saturday's disastrous start in Barrow. Whilst the performance didn't emulate our pre-season exploits Norcross were the more creative of the 2 sides against a workmanlike Hesketh Bank team which had undergone a lot of changes during the close season. Neil Kirton opened the scoring deflecting in a Sharrocks free kick. Sloppy defending allowed Hesketh to equalise following a mix-up between Adam Holliday and Rick Bryan

1-1 it stayed until shortly after the break when Kirton added a 2nd with a header following a Hone cross. We seemed a more relaxed side and started to get the ball down and play, The introduction of Adam Richardson gave us some impetus and late in the half Carl Eastwood was able to open his Norcross account with a well taken goal..

Still not a convincing victory but based on possession and quality it was well deserved. MOM: Joel Few
